This two and a half hour aerial hoop workshop with Kate Shaw will focus on creating effortless flow in and around the hoop, linking moves and creating new transitions and sequences. We will be looking at variations of getting up on to the hoop and how to ensure smooth movement whilst spinning once we get there, including shapes, twists and turns. This workshop will help you develop new aerial hoop skills and your knowledge of creating routines. Suitable for a mixture of abilities except beginners, provided you can invert and move around the hoop confidently.
Kate graduated from the National Centre for circus arts in 2017 with a BA hons specialising in aerial hoop. She has a background in dance and enjoys creating twisted contorted shapes, flowing sequences and playing with different physicalities to create acts. As well as solo aerial hoop and a variety dance discplines, Kate is also trained in doubles aerial hoop, silks and contortion.
All ages 15+ welcome.
