4.00pm - 5.30pm Sundays 11th October - 1st November
Dance Studio, Sussex Uni Sports Centre, Falmer (Brighton)
This 4 week handstand & basic acrobatics course is designed to help you progress in your handstand technique and acrobatic movement.
We will be working on the correct alignment of handstands, understanding the balance and movement through different shapes plus challenges, conditioning drills and strength work, adding in some acrobatic movement and flowing transitions.
This course is suitable for those already training handstands who can comfortably hold their own weight in their hands, even if you can't stay there yet! (you should be able to get up to free handstand/handstand on wall) and can safely cartwheel out when overshooting. Due to the current guidelines our tutors are unable to physically spot (but will step in if students are in danger) so students must have the confidence to return to the floor safely in a controlled way.
After 12 years competing in partner acrobatics at an International level, Adam decided he wanted to move away from conventional sport to use his skills to be more creative. He went on to study Handstands, Partner acrobatics and Cyr wheel at the National centre for circus arts in London, graduating in 2018.
Since then he has been working professionally within the circus industry on contemporary circus shows, film and tv, high end corporate and international events.
