Covid-19 Update

We are thrilled to be back up and running again and wanted to let you know some of the measures we've put in place to keep everyone safe.

We have a new revised timetable to allow for our Covid safety measures, lessons run by us can be found on our Online Booking page, for more info on the lessons we teach for Sussex Sport please contact them directly (01273 678228).

Unfortunately You may notice a small increase in prices, this is to account for our limited student capacity, extra equipment costs, increased set up / pack up times and additional admin. As it is necessary to quarantine equipment after a single use, we have also increased the length of some of our sessions. We will always endeavor to keep any price increases to a minimum.

The bonus of the new safety measures is that, students will get an increased amount of time on the equipment and a lower tutor to student ratio (1-6).

Covid Safety Measures

  • In addition to our standard forms, students will be required to complete a Covid specific info form prior to attending, within which they will need to read and accept our Covid safety measures and let us know if they have previously tested positive for Covid, so we can be aware of any lasting symptoms which may be relevant when training circus skills.

  • Students will be asked to change into their clean training clothes before arriving at the venue and to ensure they bring their own filled water bottle.

  • We recommend students aged 11+ wear a mask on arrival and when appropriate during lessons but not while on the equipment.

  • Students won't be allowed to wait in the building before the start of lessons.

  • Students will be checked on arrival for any symptoms or reasons they should be self isolating. Student's presenting Covid symptoms will be asked to provide a negative test result.

  • Students will be asked to notify us immediately if they develop symptoms or test positive after recently attending one of our lessons. We will have a record of students attending for track and trace.

  • If student's are unable to attend a lesson or workshop booked through our website because they have Covid symptoms or have been instructed to self isolate by the NHS or government guidelines, we will offer a credit refund on request. As we have limited capacity in lessons, we ask that students please give us as much notice as possible (as we are self employed, lost revenue affects our teaching wages).

  • Students will be required to wash hands at the start and end of the lesson and any time they touch their face and/or cough/sneeze.

  • Students and tutors will maintain social distancing at all times. During high exertion (heavy breathing), the distance should be increased.

  • Students will require a basic foundation of technique in their chosen discipline and need enough confidence not to require close spotting, tutors will only use close spotting where necessary to prevent imminent harm and will plan lessons not to require close spotting otherwise. In the case close spotting is required because a student is in danger, tutors should avoid face to face contact, maintain maximum distance possible and limit the duration of close contact.

  • Aerial equipment has been rigged to provide a safe distance between students when training.

  • Each piece of aerial apparatus will only be used by one student per lesson, then quarantined for 72 hours before next use. Students from the same household/bubble can share equipment.

  • Tutors will have their own designated aerial apparatus to use for demonstration purposes that will be separate from student apparatus.

  • Tutors will wear masks when appropriate, at their discretion.

  • Tutors will support students to work safely within their own current limits keeping in mind students strength and fitness may be affected post lockdown and mental health may also have been impacted.

  • Students will not be able to use shared rosin (a consumable used for grip aid). Small individual rosin packs will be available for purchase if required.

  • Crash mats and any other non aerial equipment used will either be cleaned and/or quarantined between uses.
